KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In teaching, we expect you to independently represent the subject area of Audio Technology in the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes of the faculty. In the field of media technology, you will deliver courses, among others, on the practical basics of sound engineering and audio applications, teach advanced techniques of audio production, and convey content in the fields of hearing and psychoacoustics. You will develop innovative teaching formats, promote project-based learning, and integrate current technological developments into your teaching.
Another central aspect of your role will be managing and further developing the excellently equipped laboratories, which offer outstanding infrastructure for practice-oriented teaching, applied research, and interdisciplinary projects.
We place particular emphasis on the field of research in artificial intelligence – especially in the context of audio-based applications. This includes, among other things, automated audio production, intelligent audio systems, as well as AI-supported methods for sound analysis and synthesis.
In addition to teaching and research, your area of responsibility also includes active participation in academic self-governance, assuming responsibility for promoting young researchers, and actively shaping international collaborations.

You are an empathetic, communicative personality who enjoys working in a team and actively contributes to professional and organisational networking within the faculty. In your teaching, you rely on modern didactic concepts and innovative methods.
You possess a relevant academic degree and outstanding subject-specific expertise, which you have demonstrated through several years of professional experience in the aforementioned areas and through successfully completed projects in the private sector. Please include meaningful work samples with your application that clearly demonstrate your professional expertise, your working approach, and your experience in the relevant application fields. We particularly welcome exemplary student project work that has been developed under your supervision.
Ideally, you have in-depth knowledge in the areas of room acoustics, loudspeaker measurement technology, signal processing, sound engineering, and audio system integration. Your practical experience with modern production environments – for example in the context of immersive audio formats, object-based audio technologies, live sound, as well as studio and post-production – enables you to handle current technologies and workflows with confidence. In addition, you bring a basic understanding of related disciplines such as film and video production, AV-over-IP, or Extended Reality (xR). You are open to interdisciplinary exchange with colleagues from other fields.
Moreover, you possess the ability and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with adjacent disciplines within media technology. Your excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
