Program Coordinator (Public Health Activities)
Position Summary:
Rutgers School of Public Health (SPH) is seeking a Program Coordinator (Public Health Activities) for the Center for Public Health Workforce Development (CPHWD) within the School of Public Health, located in Somerset, NJ. Under the direction of the Program Director, Public Health Activities, this position will support public health activities and initiatives related to workforce development and / or education and training for the current and future public health workforce. This position will support initiatives funded through agencies and organizations such as the NJ Department of Health, NJ Department of Human Services, NJ Association of County & City Health Officials (NJACCHO) and others, including internal Rutgers partners.
With oversight from the Program Director, the Program Coordinator of Public Health Activities will coordinate curriculum development and technical delivery components for assigned projects ensuring activities are implemented effectively and aligned with project goals and timelines and integrating data collection processes into program activities to support continuous improvement. Examples of projects may include workforce training needs assessments, in-person, remote live and/or asynchronous public health trainings, or the delivery of technical assistance sessions.
This position serves as an active member of the broader Center for Public Health Workforce Development team and will also participate in initiatives addressing other Center focus areas.
Duties include:
- Assists with new outreach efforts to various public and private organizations and agencies to identify opportunities for new program activities.
- Provide stakeholder and project support by assisting with project activities, gathering relevant information, and preparing updates to ensure effective communication and progress across initiatives.
- Apply public health frameworks and models to project planning and implementation, and help prepare project documentation, timelines, and progress reports
- Support curriculum and content development by conducting public health literature reviews and environmental scans to inform training content, develop learning objectives aligned with public health competencies (e.g., Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals) for in-person, remote live and/or asynchronous public health trainings. Help ensure that public health concepts are translated into accessible, practical learning materials, with attention to adult learning principles; revise content based on subject matter expert and stakeholder feedback
