Position Title
Program Director – Doctor of Social Work

Position Summary
The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences at California Baptist University invites applicants for a Full-time, 12-month, Tenure-track position with Administrator Duties, teaching in both the Doctor of Social Work program and MSW program, at any rank.

Pay Range
The compensation for this appointment will range from $100,000 – $120,000 annually and reflects what California Baptist University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual compensation may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to wages, CBU offers a robust suite of employee benefits.

Qualifications
The successful candidate should possess a Master of Social Work degree ( MSW ) and doctoral degree in social work or related field ( DSW or Ph.D. degree in social work is preferable). Applicants should possess demonstrated competency in clinical and community practice; commitment to the integration of faith and learning; commitment to justice, compassion, and service; and university teaching. In addition, a strong research and publication record are essential qualifications. Progressive experience leading faculty and staff in higher education settings such as department chair or director is preferred.

Teaching Responsibilities
Duties including leading the Doctor of Social Work program, overseeing curricular design and implementation, and organizing DSW events throughout the academic year, and summer. Teaching at both the Master’s and Doctoral levels, actively engaging in research and scholarship and serving with purpose and distinction within the community. A strong interest in and commitment to the integration of faith and learning in the practice of social work are required. The primary responsibilities include overseeing the program’s curriculum, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, establishing and maintaining strong relationships within the community, and coordinating program related events. The program director will serve in a critical capacity and the ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, demonstrate humility and grace, and lead by example are key leadership qualities. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of quality teaching, notable scholarship, and demonstrated relational skills.
