Salary Range: Up to $55,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Job Summary
The Program Manager for Aquatics provides leadership and direct management of Campus Recreation's aquatics program, with a strong focus on the development, engagement, and supervision of student staff. This position is responsible for all aspects of the aquatics program, including the operation of the outdoor aquatic facility, planning and implementation of aquatic programming, and oversight of student lifeguards and instructional staff.
Core Responsibilities
- Ensures the highest possible level of customer service in order to provide exceptional experiences for students, faculty, staff, guests and university partners.
- Develops, promotes, implements, and evaluates a comprehensive aquatics program, including daily operations, events, and informal recreation opportunities.
- Oversees the safe and effective operation of the aquatics center, including water chemistry, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
- Creates and manages detailed cleaning and maintenance schedules for the pool and related facilities on a daily, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Recruits, trains, schedules, mentors, and evaluates student staff and complete payroll functions.
- Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Facility Operations and Special Events to coordinate and schedule facility spaces for internal and external programs, groups, and events.
- Manages an annual budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and applying best practices in resource stewardship.
- Serves as the department lead for American Red Cross safety classes, including scheduling, program development, and oversight of course offerings.
- Markets facilities, programs and services.
- Assists with departmental and divisional student-centered initiatives by supporting student staff and participant development efforts that align with goals for student engagement and growth.
- Provides regular semester and annual updates on key performance indicators such as participation rates, assessment data, financial performance, and program highlights.
- Develops and maintains aquatics program procedures, training materials, and operations manuals for review and approval.
- Participates in departmental committees and strategic initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- One (1) year of related work experience.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification
- American Red Cross CPR, AED and First Aid Instructor Certification
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Pool Operator
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (able to obtain within 6 months).
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (able to obtain within 6 months).
