Program Manager - Career Services
Position Description
Designs, implements and manages an assigned program. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: Identify funding opportunities, conduct program assessments, prepare program reports, oversee and manage program marketing and communications, manage program databases, supervise program staff, plan research activities, coordinate program events, participate in strategic planning, manage program files, establish program standards and objectives, direct logistical activities to promote the success of programs, develop and implement project timelines and ensures deadlines are met, oversee program budget, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, assists in proposal writing, comply and analyze program statistics.
Major/Essential Functions
In this role, you will support the planning and execution of events and programs designed to enhance career readiness and expand industry networking opportunities for undergraduate engineering students. Through collaboration with industry and campus partners, this position helps prepare students for successful transitions into the engineering workforce.
This role operates within a collaborative team structure, where Program Managers contribute across employer engagement, event execution, and student career development. Specific areas of focus may be assigned based on team needs and individual strengths.
Employer Engagement & Event Management
- Lead logistics for bi-annual Engineering Job Fairs (~250 companies, 3,000+ students).
- Manage registration setup, booth assignments, waitlist management, shipping coordination, and venue logistics.
- Oversee day-of-event operations including setup, vendor coordination, volunteer management, and troubleshooting.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employers regarding event logistics.
- Track and manage event budgets, invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
- Coordinate logistics for Industry Week, Engineering Kickoff, and additional employer-facing events.
Student Career Development & Programming
- Coordinate and support professional development workshops, including scheduling, materials, and logistics.
- Assist in developing workshop content, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Provide on-site support during workshops and student programs.
- Track and assess student attendance, engagement, and program outcomes.
- Conduct 1:1 career coaching sessions with students to support career planning and readiness.
Mentoring & Student Engagement Initiatives
- Support and manage the Engineering Career Advancement Mentoring Program (CAMP), including mentor/mentee engagement and coordination.
- Oversee and support Engineering Peer Career Advisors, including training and ongoing development.
- Assist in building scalable student engagement strategies that connect students to career resources and opportunities.
Systems & Operations
- Maintain and update the Engineering Raider Recruit platform, including events, employer engagement, and student-facing resources.
- Support data tracking and reporting related to student outcomes and employer engagement.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and program delivery.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with team members across events, employer relations, and student programming initiatives.
- Provide support during peak periods, including job fairs and major programming weeks.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement of Engineering Career Services programs.
