PROGRAM MANAGER I
Job Description
The Program Manager I will be an integral member of the International Medical Education and will play a key role in supporting and advancing the department's operational functions. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and a collaborative approach to ensure efficient administrative processes and engagement. The Program Manager I is responsible for administratively managing an international university program under the supervision of the Associate Dean. This position will provide input into the development of program plans and objectives and will assist in achieving those objectives within defined parameters.
Responsible for administratively managing a University department under the general direction of a functional Program Director or under the auspices of a Program Advising Committee and according to an established program plan. May participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters set by University and/or department policies and procedures or technical principles. May require fiscal management of grants and other funds. May manage multiple programs. Requires the use of independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan. May supervise staff as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean, including assisting with scheduling meetings and managing the Associate Dean's calendar,
- answering the unit telephone, greeting visitors, and communicating regularly with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage the daily operations of assigned program(s) to ensure compliance with university and departmental policies
- Coordinate applicant communications and oversee the admissions process and full lifecycle of international visiting scholars at UAB
- Process faculty reimbursements and manage finances for the International Visiting Scholar Program
- Assist with planning and logistics for international faculty guest visits prepare routine reports on program metrics and visiting scholar outcomes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range
$43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
