Job Position: Project Assistant

Project Title: “Seaweeds cultivation and utilization in Odisha coast including Chilika Lake for ecological restoration and livelihood generation” (DBT project order no: BT/PR40444/NDB/39/747/2020)

Component of focus: Development of Value Added Products from Biomass

Funded by: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), India

Duration: Two years (till 2023)

Requirement: Graduation in engineering, ME/M.Tech or Postgraduate degree in Biotechnology, Agribiotechnology, Chemical sciences or allied disciplines

Preference:

• Applicants with prior knowledge & experience of seaweed handling, cultivation and biomass valorization will be given first choice
• The candidate is expected to have experience in writing research papers, handling regular laboratory experiments, project accounts and bills

Role/Experience:

• Should focus on the nutritional analysis of both the wild and cultivated seaweed biomass through modern biochemical tools/methods
• Will be involved in Development of high-value products (agar, fertilizer, pigments, exopolysaccharides, soil supplements, etc.) from seaweeds for food, agro, pharmaceuticals and other ancillaries industries

Salary: Rs 20,000/- + 24 % HRA (for 2 years)
