Project Assistant

Applied Superconductivity Laboratory at the University of Strathclyde is seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Assistant to support a multidisciplinary research laboratory working on cutting-edge superconducting technologies, including the development of next-generation superconducting motors.

As a Project Assistant, you will support the delivery of project and research-related activities within the laboratory as part of a multidisciplinary team, working under the general supervision of academic and senior professional colleagues. You will assist with the preparation and coordination of project documentation, support procurement and administrative processes, contribute to the organisation of project activities, and assist with the preparation and maintenance of structured records, reports and supporting materials. You will provide practical support to laboratory and project operations, including assisting with documentation for experimental and testing activities, data collection, and maintenance of project information.

You will manage and prioritise your own workload to ensure that activities are completed accurately and to agreed deadlines. You will contribute to the preparation of internal and external project documentation, support communication and engagement activities (social media, website, online and offline meetings) and assist with maintaining accurate and accessible project information for internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications in an engineering, physics or related scientific or technical subject would be asset to support technical and project-based activities in a research or innovation environment.

Whilst not essential for the role, applications are welcomed from candidates with: a higher Degree in a relevant discipline, some relevant work experience, membership/working towards membership of a relevant Chartered/professional body (including the Higher Education Academy), experience of relevant student supervision and teaching activities and experience of knowledge exchange related activities.
