Are you an experienced services engineer who thrives on delivering high quality projects in complex, highly serviced buildings? Would you like to play a key role in maintaining and improving one of the most prestigious university estates in the world?
We are looking for a skilled Project Leader (M and E Services) to oversee the delivery of maintenance, refurbishment and compliance projects across our diverse academic and research estate. This is an exciting opportunity to shape environments that directly support world leading teaching, research and innovation.
The Role
As a Project Leader, you will:
- Lead M and E maintenance and refurbishment projects across a diverse academic and research estate.
- Manage multiple contracts with an annual spend of around 4m, ensuring services meet all required standards.
- Act as the primary day to day contact for building users, contractors and consultants.
- Monitor performance using CAFM data, KPIs, response/rectification times and other key metrics.
- Drive improvements in maintenance delivery, compliance and long term asset performance.
- Work collaboratively with Health and Safety, Building Surveying, Programme Delivery, Statutory Compliance and wider Asset Management teams to ensure safe, sustainable and high quality outcomes.
This role offers a high level of visibility and influence within the Estates Division, with the chance to contribute to strategic decisions affecting energy use, carbon reduction and long term estate development.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has significant experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within complex, highly serviced buildings.
- Can demonstrate a successful track record in delivering M and E maintenance and refurbishment projects.
- Has hands on experience managing maintenance contracts across multiple buildings.
- Understands statutory compliance requirements relating to M and E services.
- Brings strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Can plan, prioritise and manage multiple projects while building positive relationships across teams.
- Is proactive, solutions focused and comfortable working in a fast paced, technical environment.
Qualifications
We would love to hear from you if you hold:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Engineering or substantial vocational experience within the sector.
- Professional accreditation (e.g. CIBSE, MCIOB, MIET) desirable but not essential.
