The College consists of two campuses, the James Kerney Campus (JKC) in the capital city of Trenton, NJ and a larger 292 acre suburban campus just six miles north of Trenton. The Project Manager, Facilities and College Safety is responsible for project planning and management of the timeline/work effort, scope, resourcing, including labor, equipment, and supplies, budget, vendor management, status updates and reporting for projects led by the Departments of Facilities and College Safety. He/she will be responsible for project completion on time and on budget. Duties include project tracking and management over Administrative, Construction, Custodial and Office Services initiatives and daily operations. Responsible for directing and standardizing the use of Microsoft Project management software. Leads the development of project scope, budget, and time line, and obtains necessary approvals. Collaborate with the Purchasing Department on contractor selections, including Requests of Quotes and Requests for Proposals. Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure funding for projects. Ensures compliance with various regulatory and licensing authorities and adherence to the College Facilities Master Plan. Arranges consultations as necessary with outside vendors including architects, engineers, designers, and surveyors. Manages vendor relations. Facilitate project meetings to ensure efficient and effective project completion. Provide updates and progress reporting to the Administration, end-users, and other audiences as required. Ensure that the materials, labor, other critical supports and aspects of each project are addressed and available in a timely manner. Develop contingency plans for accomplishing project completion and related work. Ensures the effective use of resources within the parameters and constraints of specific project budgets and consistent with the overall Department budget. Reconciles line-item accounts, trouble shoots purchasing/payment challenges and advises on the payment and closing out of invoices and vendor statements. Assists in preparing and monitoring the project budget, tracking and submission of Pay Apps in accordance with AIA requirements, for preparing cost estimates, containment strategies and oversees the financial performance of the department budget. This includes operating, capital, Grant provided, and the related departmental budgets. The Project Manager position will be charged with maintaining a clear, comprehensive and current working knowledge of pertinent trends and technologies to assist the College in achieving efficient and effective operations. Develops project management applications, refinements/process improvements and assists with the implementation. The Project Manager position remains proficient with respect to technology and work place strategies to maximize productivity through sound strategies designed to yield positive progress and favorable cost benefit ratios on all MCCC projects. Additionally, this position will be responsible for the administration, coordination and communications of project plans, time lines and progress reports to all stakeholders, including but not limited to, the Administration and the respective divisions, faculty members, staff and/or relevant contractors, sub-contractors and vendors. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution OR Equivalent experience in the position of project management Current, advanced level of Project Management certification and/or an architectural or engineering degree completion status Preferred experience with public purchasing and procurement and with the Microsoft Project Management software. Maintenance administration and/or experience in managing or coordinating the delivery of facilities maintenance, construction, grounds and/or office supply services is required.
