Project Manager
Work that matters
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of a new national research monitoring program focused on the design and delivery of optimal care for children and young adults with early type 1 diabetes across 8 clinical sites in Australia. This role plays a critical part in supporting a multi-centre, collaborative program involving leading clinical and research institutions across Australia.
Working closely with the Chief Investigators, participating sites, and central project staff, the Project Manager will provide high-level coordination, governance oversight, and operational leadership to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with ethics, governance, contractual, and funding requirements.
The role has a strong focus on ethics, research governance, financial management, stakeholder coordination, and reporting. It requires a proactive, organised, and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage complexity across multiple institutions and jurisdictions.
Reporting to the Chief Investigator, you will work closely with investigators, the data manager, biostatisticians, finance teams, and site-based staff to support the successful implementation and ongoing delivery of the monitoring program.
The team
The project is based within the School of Medicine and is delivered in partnership with Women’s and Children’s Hospital and a network of paediatric and adult clinical centres across Australia. The team brings together nationally recognised clinical leaders, researchers, data specialists, and health professionals committed to improving outcomes for people at risk of type 1 diabetes.
This collaborative program works at the intersection of research, clinical care, and health system implementation, with strong links to national and international initiatives in early type 1 diabetes screening, monitoring, and disease-modifying therapies.
