Are you passionate about helping teams deliver advanced manufacturing research projects? We have an exciting opportunity to join the AMRC group as a Project Manager for the Nuclear Manufacturing Group (NMG).

Due to a current staff member taking maternity leave, the Nuclear Manufacturing Group is looking to recruit a Project Manager to provide support to the Engineers and head of the simulation and verification group.

As a Project Manager, you will play a key role within an integrated project team based in the NMG, ensuring that each project is run in accordance with client requirements and the AMRC’s Quality Management requirements. You will be the focal point for the project team, co-ordinating resources and equipment loading to ensure that customer objectives are met and delivered on time and within budget. You will be customer focussed and be the face of the team when dealing with clients throughout the project lifecycle.

You will have:

  • An honours degree in Business, project management or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience of leading projects in a commercial environment and interfacing with customers/stakeholders at all levels.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience of writing reports and delivering presentations.
  • Experience of project management methodologies, project life cycles, change control processes and configuration control of project documentation.
  • Effective leadership skills, managing resources aligning the day-to-day work and goals of the team with the organisation’s strategic vision.

About the Team

You will work at the AMRC Future Energy Factory. This role provides excellent opportunities to increase and enhance your knowledge and skills, supported by a friendly team in an excellent working environment. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of R&D projects in any or all of the following areas: manufacturing assessment processes, design optimisation, advanced manufacturing, digital manufacturing and quality assurance. Projects you will work on may be conducted on behalf of commercial clients, be part of the Centre’s capability development programme or be undertaken in collaboration with other organisations as part of a government funded programme.
