The Opportunity

The Project Officer Industry Engagement is responsible for coordinating projects and initiatives in the Student Industry portfolio related to student and industry experience. The Student Industry Engagement Coordinator is responsible for creating a unique engineering experience that stewards industry relationships, coordinates engagement activities, and optimises program execution. The role of Project Officer Industry Engagement reports to the Manager – Student Industry Engagement. The position holder will also work closely with the Manager Student Experience and Opportunities Manager and team.

  • Salary, Level 6: $103,866 to $110,801 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full-time
  • Fixed term – 24 months
  • Location: Kensington campus – Sydney, Australia (onsite role minimum 3-4 days a week)

Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Strong engagement and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to establish and maintain long-term relationships with alumni, prospects, and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects and delivering engagement activities, including events, stakeholder communications, and program execution.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Proven experience in relationship management of diverse stakeholder groups with a strong track record in delivery of successful outcomes.
  • Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
  • Superior communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write content for mass communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage programs focused on specific outcomes that engage multiple stakeholders in either the public or private sectors.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, and experience with project management tools; ability to learn and use EDM platforms (e.g., Mailchimp) and event management tools (e.g., Eventbrite).
