Project Officer - Oxford Climate Policy Hub
About the role
The Oxford Climate Policy Hub is seeking a Project Officer to support the development of the Oxford Climate Policy Monitor and the wider goals of the Hub. The Hub is a collaboration between the Blavatnik School of Government and the Oxford Sustainable Law Programme, and forms part of the University’s Oxford Net Zero strategic cluster. Combining expertise in law, political economy, climate science, finance, ethics, and economics, the Hub monitors and advances best practice in climate governance and regulation for net zero.
Based at the Blavatnik School of Government and reporting to the Programme’s Principal Investigators, the postholder will manage the Programme’s day-to-day financial and administrative activities, oversee project management, co-ordinate meetings and events, and support communications, funding applications, and reporting. The successful candidate will be educated to undergraduate level or above, with strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, alongside experience in budget management and financial reporting.
About You
You hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as economics, development studies, political science, geography, law, or public policy. You have excellent project management skills, with the ability to deliver complex programmes on time, on budget, and to a high standard, alongside strong organisational and time management skills and exceptional attention to detail.
You bring outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. You demonstrate diplomacy, tact, discretion, and initiative, along with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to improving processes. You are flexible, self-motivated, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities, with experience in developing funding proposals and managing budgets, including financial reporting and compliance.
