The UCI School of Medicine shines on the world stage as an enterprising champion of innovation and discovery. The school has 24 departments, ranging from basic science, clinical and translational research, to medical and surgical specialties.
Your Role on the Team
Experienced, seasoned professional who uses employment and staffing techniques and concepts for employment, sourcing programs, and policies for the organization. Employment and search efforts are diverse and complex in scope, where analyses of situations require a review of variety of factors. Identifies and presents qualified candidates for professional level positions. Normally receives general direction on all staffing and employment assignments. Exercises considerable judgment and discretion to determine appropriate action. Works with senior internal and external contacts. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes and develops solutions to a wide range of issues. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Primarily deals with policies, programs and proposals which are complex in nature and diverse in scope. Develops new programs, policies or procedures for possible implementation.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required:
- Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work may impact other areas.
- Thorough knowledge of the recruitment, screening, interviewing and referral processes.
- Knowledge of HR processes and forms and knows organizational and departmental principles and procedures.
- Works with other areas of human resources as it relates to the employment function.
- Knowledge of employment law.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills as well as those needed for conducting needs assessment, providing input on candidate selection and problem solving.
- Demonstrated abilities associated with problem identification; reasoning; ability to work with business units in developing ideas to solve staffing issues.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct complex analyses and develop recommendations.
- Highly skilled in public speaking with ability to speak effectively and articulately in front of a large audience.
- Knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
- Analytical / problem-solving skills.
- Strong skills in analyzing, researching and synthesizing large amounts of data for preparing sound and relevant proposals / analyses.
- Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
- A minimum of 5 years of experience
