Job Summary
Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of
Medicine has an immediate opening for an Occupational Therapist in
our University Developmental Assessment Clinics (UDAC). The
Occupational Therapist will provide comprehensive occupational
therapy evaluations for children who present with developmental
concerns that may affect their participation and functioning at
home, in school, and in the community. This position will be
primarily in the Child Development Program with potential
opportunities in the future to participate in the Neonatal
Follow-up Program and the Heart Center Neurodevelopment
Program. Children referred to the Child Development Program
may present with a wide range of developmental profiles, including
neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder,
ADHD, and sensory processing disorder. The Occupational Therapist
will work collaboratively with children, families, caregivers,
educators, and members of the interdisciplinary team to identify
strengths, areas of need, and develop an individualized plan of
care.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations to
assess children's functional abilities, developmental skills, and
participation in daily activities. Evaluations will include, but
are not limited to, assessment of sensory processing, fine motor
skills, executive function skills, visual-motor integration,
coordination, self-care abilities, play skills, and functional
participation.
- Train and supervise occupational therapy practicum students and
train other University trainees of a variety of disciplines.
- Assist in directing or working within agency program and
support areas, as assigned by the UDAC Director.
- Educate the patient and their parents about the findings of the
evaluation; also educate about the goals of the occupational
therapy program, plan of treatment, home programs, injury
prevention and other related information.
- Provide documentation of patient care according to established
criteria.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Required
Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University
of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within
30 days of hire.
Current licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the
State of Utah.
Preferences
Preferences
- Experience with program development and outreach
consultation.
- Experience working with children and infants with
disabilities.
- Fluency in Spanish is desirable.
