We are seeking to appoint a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Lead within the Pandemic Sciences Institute. You will be responsible for providing expert leadership on monitoring, evaluation and learning across the Pandemic Sciences Institute (PSI), including leading MEL activity for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative and the International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC), and developing an overarching MEL framework to evaluate and support delivery of PSI’s mission and impact.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, programme teams and external partners to design, implement and refine robust MEL approaches across a diverse research portfolio. This will include overseeing systematic data collection and analysis using quantitative and qualitative methods, embedding learning into programme design and delivery, and applying evidence to support continuous improvement. You will play a key role in synthesising and interpreting complex data to generate rigorous insights for scientific, policy and funder audiences, and will contribute to strengthening MEL capability and a culture of evidence-informed decision-making and impact across PSI.

It is essential that you are educated to Masters level in a relevant discipline, including, but not limited to, epidemiology, global health, international development, or health systems and policy, and have substantial experience of monitoring and evaluation, including developing and delivering MEL frameworks such as Theory of Change. You will have experience of evaluating scientific or global health research, working collaboratively with partners in resource-constrained settings, and using data to support learning and improvement. Experience of working effectively in academic research settings and excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement skills are also required.

Applications for this vacancy should be made online and you will need to upload a supporting statement and CV. Your supporting statement must explain how you meet each of the selection criteria for the post, using examples from your skills and experience. Please restrict your documentation to your CV and supporting statement only. Any other documents will be requested at a later date.
