PSOM Administrator
Job Summary
The PSOM Administrator serves as the primary technical contact for all Production Scheduling & Output Management (PSOM) applications and services for the University of Nebraska, Nebraska State Colleges, Nebraska Student Information Systems (NeSIS) and Nebraska Business Information Systems (NeBIS). This position is responsible for ensuring availability of PSOM services across on-premise, cloud, and third-party hosted infrastructure, including IBM IWS Workload Scheduler and Systemware Content Cloud.
The incumbent designs, implements, and manages production scheduling and output management solutions; monitors automated job streams and output pipelines; troubleshoots complex technical issues independently and in collaboration with vendors and university stakeholders; and maintains comprehensive documentation and user training resources. This role serves as a key liaison between technical teams and the business community, translating operational requirements into reliable, high-performing systems.
The PSOM Administrator monitors and assists in setting up automated processes, monthly schedules, output management access and reporting, and client notifications. They interact directly with end-users to understand requirements and drive service enhancements, support business process improvements, and provide status information for application performance and project updates.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years experience working with software applications/programs, including ensuring optimal functionality, resolving technical challenges, installing patches and upgrades, and maintaining technical documentation and training tools
- Customer service experience troubleshooting IT issues and responding to assistance inquiries
- Knowledge of SAP R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP), PeopleSoft/Oracle Student System, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and/or various other software applications
- Ability to balance priorities and work concurrently on multiple projects
- Excellent communications and organizational skills
Equivalent combination of education and experience, that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT-related field
- 5 years relevant work experience
- Higher Education and/or Government industry experience
- Experience in production scheduling for business systems, including arranging, controlling, and optimizing work and workloads in a production process
- Hands-on experience with IBM IWS Workload Scheduler and/or Systemware Content Cloud

This position is designated as an on-site role and is not eligible for an alternative worksite arrangement at the time of hire. Following successful completion of the initial probationary period and demonstration of satisfactory performance, employees in this position may be considered for a hybrid work arrangement, subject to departmental needs and supervisory approval. Under the University of Nebraska hybrid work guidelines, eligible employees may work remotely up to two days per week and are required to work on-site a minimum of three days per week.
