- Support patients in activities of daily living, including assistance with hygiene, ambulation, laundry, and environmental cleanliness and safety.
- Participate in patient assessment and care planning including taking vital signs and checking blood glucose levels.
- Communicate observations and relevant patient information to multidisciplinary team and document in patient health record as needed.
- Rotate between three different roles – performing required safety checks, supporting the patient milieu, and working with patients and families in the neurodevelopmental subunit.
- Provide therapeutic and/or physical interventions under supervision of Nursing.
- Transport patients to off-unit procedures or tests.
- At times, serve as a 1:1 patient attendant by providing constant and vigilant observation of assigned patient.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Child Psych experience.
- Evidence of a responsible work pattern including an outstanding attendance record and arriving on time for your shift.
- Recent experience on an inpatient psychiatric unit.
Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of college.
This position consists of a 32 hour per week appointment. The schedule will include every other weekend with the shift position of night shifts.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment. This is a benefited position.
