Position Summary

This position is composed of clinical and administrative duties, and coordinates CPS's Postgraduate Psychology Fellowship Program. The position provides direct clinical services to our undergraduate and graduate student population, including urgent care and crisis intervention, psychological evaluations, time-limited individual and group psychotherapeutic treatment, on call services, campus liaison, mental health education, and community referral services. The position also focuses on the coordination of CPS' Fellowship Program, which currently includes full-time three postgraduate fellows. This position is responsible for maintaining and developing all aspects of the program, including recruitment, clinical supervision, education, and mentoring functions.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

• 65% Clinical Care · Provides urgent care and crisis intervention, psychological evaluations, and time-limited individual and group psychotherapeutic treatment. · Serves on an on call-after hours rotation with other CPS clinicians. · Performs specialized evaluations for students of concern: these include administrative, readmission, exit, and post-hospital evaluations. · Uses clinical data to inform diagnostic assessments (DSM-V) and treatment planning. · Participates in select UHS multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• 25% Training & Professional Development · Develops, designs and implements a curriculum for the Fellowship training seminar, involving both the review of clinical material as well as journal articles and related scholarship. · Designs and implements a system for evaluating the progress of Fellows and for continually improving training program elements. · Translates a high level of computer literacy to the capacity training others in the use of electronic health records. · Collaborates, consults with, and coordinates regular meetings with other CPS supervisors to determine training needs, supervisory assignments, and progress evaluations and reports. · Explores program expansion and the advantages and disadvantages of program accreditation (e.g., Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers) as appropriate. · Serves as a professional mentor to Postdoctoral fellows. · Engages in campus outreach and community education related to mental health issues. · Serves as a mental health consultant to other University partners and stakeholders, and a community referral resource for students.
• 10% Administrative Management · Oversees all aspects of the Postgraduate Fellowship Program, which at presents has three Fellowship lines (3.0 FTE). · Assures that the Fellowship Program adheres to the ethical codes of the American Psychological Association, and the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners. · Supervises all Postdoctoral fellows. · Instates an appropriate grievance procedure for participants in the Fellowship Program · Manages the recruitment cycle, in collaboration with Human Resources. · Participates in select UHS, Campus Life, and University committees, as assigned by the Director. · Develops and modifies policies and guidelines related to the Fellowship program. · Participates in other initiatives, projects, and activities, as assigned by the Director.
