In this part-time position (15 hours per week), the Psychologist provides clinical supervision to practicum students enrolled in TSU’s Master of Arts in Psychology Program who are completing their training at the University Counseling Center ( UCC ). The Psychologist ensures that practicum students deliver services in accordance with ethical, legal, and professional standards while supporting their clinical skill development.
In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Psychologist may provide direct clinical services to university students, including mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and individual and group therapy.
Essential Duties Summary
- Provides clinical supervision to students in the Master of Arts in Psychology Program.
- Provides mental health services including assessment, crisis intervention, and individual and group therapy.
- Facilitates and coordinates training for psychology and counseling interns.
- Works in close collaboration with the Director of the University Counseling Center and the Master of Arts in Psychology Program.

Education
Required: PhD or PsyD in Psychology
Required Licensing/Certification
Licensed Psychologist in Texas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Individual and group interventions
- American Psychological Association Code of Ethics
- Texas laws related to the practice of psychology
- Models of supervision
- Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications
Skill in:
- Clinical intervention, assessment, and supervision.
- Working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Communication, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving.
- Clinical documentation.
Ability to:
- Maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure, which may include communications systems, computer networks and systems, cybersecurity systems, electrical grid, hazardous waste treatment or water treatment system.
Work Experience
Preferred:
- At least three years of practice experience as a psychologist.
- At least one year of experience as a clinical supervisor.
- Prior work with minority and at-risk young adults.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Limited standing and/or walking.
Handling lightweight objects.
Using or carrying equipment.
Stoop, bend, or lift.
