PT Drama/Theatre Arts Instructor

PART-TIME DRAMA/THEATRE ARTS INSTRUCTOR

Foothill-De Anza Community College District is establishing a pool of qualified applicants for this position. Applications will be accepted continuously until otherwise noted. Applications will remain on file for two years from date received or last submitted.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:

• Standard duties expected of all part-time faculty include the performance of instructional, counselor, or librarian duties as assigned; evaluation and assessment of student work; and timely submission of grades.
• Teach courses in theatre arts.
• Other potential areas of instruction may include intro to theatre, multi-cultural theatre, actor training including on-camera and voice-over, all approached from a diverse perspective.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Drama/Theatre Arts

1. Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
2. Master's or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance OR Bachelor's or Bachelor of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance AND Master's in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature or humanities OR the equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Preferred experience with online instruction.
