Public Health / Health Systems Science (Open Rank Faculty)

The Department of Medical Education at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso – Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time open rank faculty position in public health & health systems science.

Position Description:

• Participate in the collaborative development and delivery of the pre-clerkship medical school curriculum (years 1-2), with an emphasis on curricular elements related to the teaching and assessment of health systems science
• Participate in course administration and instruction for the pre-clerkship phase of the medical school curriculum
• Collaborate with faculty members in other disciplines to develop and deliver an integrated curriculum that blends basic science, clinical science, and health systems science
• Employ a variety of teaching methods including case-based instruction, large- and small-group discussion, lecture, demonstration, simulation, and team-based learning
• Provide formative and summative assessment of medical student performance

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent degree in public health, health systems science, or a closely related discipline, or MD/DO or equivalent medical degree together with an MPH
• Expertise/experience in teaching multiple curricular domains of health systems science
• Evidence of scholarship in the field of expertise
