As our Quality Assurance and Governance Officer, you’ll play a key role in strengthening ECT’s academic governance and ensuring compliance with UK regulatory frameworks. You’ll support internal and external quality processes, coordinate academic committees, and provide high‑quality documentation that underpins evidence‑based decision‑making. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of robust quality systems within a growing specialist engineering institution.
This is a full‑time role, based in Stevenage with hybrid working.

What You’ll Do
- Support the development, implementation and review of ECT’s quality assurance policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and secure QA records to support monitoring, reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate and service academic committees, preparing documentation, minutes and action tracking.
- Assist in planning and delivering internal reviews, external audits, and accreditation activities.
- Manage programme and module modification processes, ensuring documentation remains accurate and current.
- Coordinate programme validation and revalidation panels within the Quality Framework.
- Support annual programme and module review processes, ensuring timely completion of actions.
- Manage the External Examiner lifecycle, including appointments, training and communication.
- Produce clear, evidence-based reports for senior management and governance committees.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement across QA processes and the student experience.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in quality assurance, academic governance or regulatory compliance within higher education.
- Good understanding of OfS, QAA and PSRB expectations.
- Proven experience servicing committees and producing high‑quality documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse information, identify issues and propose practical solutions.
- Confident IT user, including MS Office and document management systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues across the institution.
Desirable
- Experience within a small or specialist HE provider.
