Job Description:

(Level B) $114,917 to $135,932 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.

Fixed-term, full-time position (1 FTE) available for 24 months with the possibility of extension.

Quantitative researcher with experience in primary care.

The Discipline of General Practice supports teaching, research, clinical practice and the development of better prevention and public health policies. This research position will contribute to the coordination of quantitative research projects and support other researchers' activities in the Discipline of General Practice. These initiatives are principally developed in primary health settings, and the selected candidate will assist with coordinating quantitative research projects and contribute to the design of quantitative studies, especially in chronic disease prevention/management, pharmacoepidemiology and big data research. The successful candidate will also develop and strengthen internal and external relationships with relevant research groups and stakeholders.

As a Quantitative Researcher at the Adelaide Medical School, you will work with a team of clinicians, data analysts, qualitative researchers, and community representatives to provide research support in different initiatives related to the prevention, diagnosis and management of different conditions in primary care. Working with a dynamic team of primary care researchers, you will play an essential role in developing new grant applications, assist with the supervision of postgraduate students and support the preparation of publications arising from these activities.

To be successful you will need:

  • A PhD in epidemiology, public health, medical sciences or other areas relevant to primary health care
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to the coordination of quantitative health research projects, preferably in primary care or related fields
  • Demonstrated experience leading quantitative data analyses and the reporting of health research findings
  • Track record of health-related publications, with proven experience of contributing substantially to preparation of manuscripts (literature review, analysis, interpretation, writing, submission)
  • Experience contributing to the development of research funding applications, with a demonstrated interest and capacity to build independent grant-writing expertise
