The post is available under the supervision of Professor Nisreen Alwan and Dr Nida Ziauddeen in close collaboration with the wider Arc Wessex.
The successful candidate will be employed by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton and will be based at the Centre for Population Health Sciences, School of Primary Care, Population Sciences and Medical Education.
The Healthy Communities and Prevention Theme of the NIHR ARC Wessex has a flagship programme focusing on Obesity Across the Lifecourse. The role will support interdisciplinary quantitative research and modelling towards achieving the aims of the Theme working with the relevant regional and national stakeholders.
Applicants will have substantial experience of conducting quantitative research using cohort or health records data, statistical modelling, working independently and collaboratively with diverse teams. Applicants’ knowledge and experience will have been gained through a relevant PhD and work experience, and demonstrated through peer reviewed publications.
The post is fixed term until 30/09/2028 and will be offered full time from October 2026. Other FTEs will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
