Job Description
Safely and accurately administers high doses of ionizing radiation to treat patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Perform complex radiation oncology therapy procedures. Perform RT CT simulation procedures with emphasis on patient positioning as ordered by the Radiation Oncologist on duty. Responsible for performing routine and complex procedures in computed tomography, magnetic resonance, and diagnostic imaging to produce high quality images of anatomical structures for interpretation by the radiologist or other attending clinicians. Adhere to and enforce mandatory radiation safety measures in all areas. Performs related clerical duties. Review and evaluate CT, MRI, and radiographic images to determine if satisfactory for diagnostic purposes. Participate in equipment maintenance programs. Instruct students in radiation safety and proper image acquisition techniques. Perform related administrative and clerical duties. Maintain certification continuing education and state licensure.
Required Qualifications
Associate degree of Applied Science; Radiation Therapy certification, CT certification, MRI certification. Previous experience and working knowledge of diagnostic radiology; previous experience and working knowledge of biomedical imaging equipment; previous experience with veterinary patients; previous experience in a fast-paced clinical environment with strong focus on patient safety and high quality of care. Excellent communication skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, students, faculty and patients; ability to readily learn new procedures, must be adaptable; Rabies prophylaxis is required (provided by employer).
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience and working knowledge of veterinary biomedical imaging equipment.
Previous experience and working knowledge of histotripsy equipment.
