Reader or Professor in Marine Mammal Physiology and Health

We wish to appoint a Professor/Reader within the School of Biology. You will be an outstanding scholar with an international research reputation in marine mammal physiology, health and conservation with expertise that contributes to understanding the condition, resilience and conservation of marine mammal populations, including responses to environmental change, and a track record of delivering high-quality teaching within the broad field of Marine Biology. The successful candidate will be expected to have a range of interests, to be active in research publication that strengthens or complements those in the School and to be capable of teaching the subject to undergraduate and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds.

Candidates will hold a doctorate in a cognate discipline and will be expected to be capable of teaching the subject to honours and taught postgraduate students from a wide range of backgrounds. The primary criteria for appointment will be evidence of an internationally recognised research record, a clear programme of anticipated research activity for the coming years and a significant research funding record.
