Academic Connect1. Introduction to the Department
The National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data Analysis and Application Technology was established in 2017 with the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission. Based on the national strategy, the laboratory relies on Peking University to establish a research environment and core team, aims at the needs of big data analysis technology, establishes a research and development and experimental platform, and conducts research on preprocessing and quality control of big data, computational mathematics theory and algorithms of big data, statistical methods and theories of big data, large-scale machine learning methods, mining and analysis of heterogeneous multi-source big data, visualization of big data, as well as knowledge computing and decision support. Based on this, the laboratory has established a high-level excellent team with professional backgrounds in data science, statistics, machine learning, operations research, optimization, high-performance computing, industrial engineering, natural language processing, scientific computing and other big data-related majors. The laboratory focuses on key industry applications and the development needs of the data industry, establishes a full-process development framework and system standards for big data analysis systems and industrial applications of data industries, and strengthens cooperative research with supporting units and advantageous units and regions based on the support platform, leading the development of the big data analysis industry at home and abroad, and providing basic support for government decision-making and corporate innovation based on big data.

Job Responsibilities
Organize or participate in research projects, and engage in research in data science, statistics, machine learning, operations research, optimization, high performance computing, industrial engineering, natural language processing, scientific computing, and other fields related to big data and research related to the digitalization of humanities and social sciences.

Applicants for researchers: In principle, they should be no older than 45 years old, have a doctorate degree in a field related to big data, have considerable influence in domestic and international academic circles and have achieved representative results, have been widely recognized by peer experts, and have the academic qualities to serve as project leaders and undertake project tasks, as well as the ability to lead a research team.
Applicants for associate researchers: In principle, they should be no older than 45 years old, have a doctorate degree in a field related to big data, have a certain influence in the domestic and international academic circles and have achieved corresponding results, be recognized by peer experts, have the ability to undertake research projects, and have the potential to develop into a project leader.
Applicants for assistant researchers: In principle, they should be no older than 40 years old, have a doctorate degree in a field related to big data, have a certain influence in the domestic and international academic circles and have achieved corresponding results, be able to assist in research tasks, and have good research ability and development potential.
