Occupational Summary
The primary purpose of the Regional Admissions Advisor is to guide prospective Baker College students through the admission and enrollment process. Acting as a central point of contact, the Regional Admissions Advisor provides personalized support to individuals and families, ensuring a seamless transition into the Baker College community. From initial inquiry to enrollment, the Advisor will deliver informative guidance on program offerings, academic requirements, financial aid options, and institutional policies, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for all learners. Additionally, they serve as the primary representative of Baker College at various college events, such as speaking engagements, college fairs, and admissions events, embodying the institution's mission and values. The Regional Admissions Advisor actively engages with high school students, teachers, and counselors, delivering career presentations and providing guidance on the diverse range of programs offered by Baker College. By identifying new markets and implementing effective student recruiting strategies, the Regional Admissions Advisor contributes to the growth and promotion of Baker College, instilling a strong desire in potential students to join the institution's vibrant community. With excellent communication skills and a commitment to collaboration, the Regional Admissions Advisor enhances awareness and support for Baker College while advancing its mission of providing accessible and quality education.
Role and Responsibilities/ Essential Job Functions
- Counsel and advise prospective students and their families on educational opportunities, admission procedures, transfer credit evaluations, financial aid resources, and institutional policies and requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with prospective students through various channels, including phone, email, chat, and in-person meetings, to guide them through the admission process and address any questions or concerns.
- Utilize institutional technology platforms to manage student information, process admission records, track applicant progress, and generate reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with admissions team members to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies, including participation in college fairs, high school visits, community events, and virtual information sessions.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to prospective students and their support networks, ensuring a positive and engaging experience throughout the enrollment journey.
- Stay informed about developments in higher education, including changes in admission policies, industry trends, and emerging best practices, to provide accurate and up-to-date information to students.
- Assist in developing and refining admission-related policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the enrollment process.
- Support institutional goals and objectives by actively participating in departmental initiatives, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with academic advisors, financial aid advisors, and other campus stakeholders to facilitate a smooth transition for admitted students into their chosen programs of study.
- Represent Baker College with professionalism and integrity at all times, embodying the institution's values of diversity, equity, inclusion, and excellence in education.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of higher education admissions experience required; more than 3 years’ experience preferred.

- Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Proficient in using technology tools and software applications, including Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and virtual communication platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a high level of professionalism under pressure.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive student information.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Work Environment
- General office environment. Moderate noise environment.
- Extensive travel is required primarily within the state of Michigan, and/or to surrounding states including overnights for extended periods.

Candidates for the Regional Admissions Advisor position at Baker College should hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Master's degree preferred).
