- Two years or more of prior experience in professional college admissions

Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to recruit prospective students and to promote Texas State in the Austin area. The Austin Regional Admissions Counselor participates in all aspects of recruitment, both in the Austin area and on campus.
Expected activities include but are not limited to visits to high schools and community colleges, presentations, admissions events, and communication with students, parents, and counselors.
The Austin Regional Admissions Counselor position requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
The Austin Regional Admissions Counselor must reside in the Austin area.

The characteristics and responsibilities of the ideal Austin Regional Admissions Counselor include but are not limited to:

- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Extensive travel
- Available for evening, overnight, and occasional weekend work
- Participating in college fairs and admissions events throughout the assigned territory and on campus
- Conducting large and small group presentations
- Collaborating with the admissions team
- Planning recruitment events
- Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors
- Preparing recruitment reports
- Other duties as assigned
