REGISTERED NURSE: Ambulatory Care Services (Brighton Center for Specialty Care Infectious Disease)
Note: All new employees will be expected to cover Brighton Care Specialty Center with potential to work at Taubman Center or other Infectious Disease service locations.
- Provide expert nursing care to infectious disease patients in the ambulatory outpatient clinics.
- Provide telephone triage, patient teaching, direct patient care including injections, documentation with follow-up and coordination with ancillary services and related departments.
- Monitor laboratory results for outpatients receiving IV antibiotics.
- Provide functional supervision to allied health staff.
- Change PICC line dressings and remove PICC lines at completion of therapy.
- Vaccine administration and over-see Immunization Clinic patient evaluation.
- Assist with patient flow as necessary and appropriate.
- Work with licensed providers to develop and carry out clinical standards of care for various patient diagnoses.
- Participate as a professional member of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Teach patients and families pertinent information regarding the patient condition and treatment plans.
- Coordinate infusion therapies.
- Assist in orientation of team members as appropriate, including observation and participation of patient care activities.
- Actively participate and support performance improvement activities related to self, clinic, department, and institutional goals and objectives.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current license to practice nursing in the State of Michigan (RN).
- Two (2) years, within the past 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse providing care to adult patients who are immunocompromised, such as those in transplant, hematology/oncology, and HIV.
- Proficiency with MiChart inbasket management and/or documentation in electronic health record, e.g., Epic.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills as evidence by resume, annual evaluations, and references.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with venous access devices such as PICC lines, ports, and Hickman devices.
- Experience in telehealth nursing.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period.

Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.
Hours: 40 hours/week.
Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday, with possibility for evenings, weekends and holidays based on clinic needs. Flexibility is required.
Location: Brighton Care Specialty Center with potential to work at Taubman Center or other Infectious Disease service locations.
