Summary of Essential Duties:

• As a Clinical Nurse II you will perform a variety of direct patient care activities specific to the unit and needs of the patient population
• Perform patient assessments, triage patient concerns, provide clinical education to patients for pre-ops and other disease management education
• Manage anticoagulation, coordinate patient care, and maintain overall management of the ambulatory cardiac clinic with over 20 providers daily
• Obtain prior authorizations
• Triage phone calls from patients, pharmacies and other providers
• Identify the ability of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to follow instructions, as well as safety concerns in the age-related populations
• Institute additional measures to provide a safe environment

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required

BSN highly preferred

License/Certification:

Current, unrestricted California RN license required

ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association preferred

BLS required

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required

Demonstrated ability in a specialty area (pediatrics) strongly preferred

Excellent IV skills required
