Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Demonstrate experience with research or program evaluation related work.
- Demonstrate prior experience and knowledge of data collection and analysis techniques, including data software such as Microsoft Excel and Qualtrics.
Demonstrate prior experience developing reports from data sets.Demonstrate prior experience and skills in technical, academic, public policy, and/or grant and legislative report writing.Demonstrate experience managing multiple project timelines.Demonstrate attentiveness, attention to detail, and strong organization skills.Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D.
- Demonstrate prior experience with ArcGIS software.
- Demonstrate prior experience conducting social science research with populations in educational environments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the Texas Education Code.
- Demonstrate prior experience with client relationship management.
Job Description:
The Texas School Safety Center TxSSC is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Research Analyst position to assist the Associate Director of Research and Evaluation in managing data, conducting analysis, and developing internal and external templates and reports related to the evaluation of internal training program deliverables and outcomes. This position will have the unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative working environment where you assist in the development of data collection, data analysis, and dissemination of research information to various stakeholder groups. All research and evaluation efforts aim to ensure that schools and communities across Texas are safe, secure, and healthy learning environments.The TxSSC is an official university-level research center at Texas State University. The TxSSC is tasked in Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code and the Governor’s Homeland Security Strategic Plan with key school safety initiatives and mandates. The TxSSC serves as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of safety and security information through research, training, and technical assistance for K-12 ISDs, open-enrollment charter schools, and community colleges throughout the state of Texas.
Job Duties:
- Assist in expanding and improving program evaluation of state-wide training and events.
- Design appropriate methodologies to address topics related to school safety, security, and health.
- Design and administer data collection procedures including surveys, focus group and interview protocols, as well as other appropriate data collection procedures.
- Manage data collected from statewide surveys and TxSSC training and events.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative research data.
- Conduct assessments of programs and activities.
- Develop reports, scholarly articles, and other research related publications.
- Disseminate information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
- Present ideas to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the information.
- Develop templates, guides, and toolkits in support of Texas school districts.
- Conduct systematic literature reviews on topics related to school safety, security, and health.
- Ensure high attention to detail and organization with projects.
- Provide technical support to school stakeholders and internal staff in a professional manner.
- Proactively solve problems while demonstrating initiative and enthusiasm.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
