Job Description:
Summary:
The student research assistant will work closely with prof. Aquila on a project related to the dispersal of pollutants from the Kenilworth Park Landfill Site, active between 1942 and 1970. The ideal candidate will have experience with Python programming and data analysis and able to perform work independently.
Essential Functions:
- Independently develop Python scripts for data analysis.
- Create data visualizations.
- Select and run a pollution dispersal model.
- Literature research.
Position type/Expected Hours of Work:
- Part-time.
- Student.
- 10 hours per week.
- The position end date is 6/1/2026.
- The work schedule is flexible. The student will agree to meet weekly with Prof. Aquila at a regular day and time agreed upon at the start of the position.
Salary Range:
- $17.95 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
- Experience with Python.
- Experience in data analysis.
- Familiarity with basic statistical methods.
- Ability to communicate promptly and clearly.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Good academic standing.
- A laptop or computer is required for this job and can be provided to the research assistant by Prof. Aquila.
