Research Assistant Aphasia CRE
Job Description:
- Full time, Fixed Term 12months from commencement
- Located at Melbourne (Bundoora) campus (onsite)
- Level A Academic (research only)
- Base salary from $81,594 plus 17% superannuation contribution
About the position
Working closely with the existing Clinical Trial Manager of M-MAT Tele and the Communication Connect team, and reporting to Dr John Pierce, the role will assist with day-to-day trial activities including participant and site liaison, data quality processes, and preparation of trial materials.
In addition to responsibilities specific to the trials, the position will contribute to selected research activities across related projects within the broader program of research in the Aphasia CRE. This may include assistance with analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, ethics, and governance documentation, data collection, and manuscript preparation. The position therefore requires strong organisational capability, excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple research streams.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have;
- Recognised qualification in speech pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, ideally with experience working with adults with acquired communication disorders (e.g., aphasia).
- Demonstrated research experience, which may include a record of publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions to research. A PhD or research Master’s degree is desirable but not essential.
- High level organisational skills: the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, initiate and follow-up actions with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with staff and students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Due to the nature of this role it is performed full time on campus, however flexibility for some remote work can be discussed with the successful incumbent.
