Description
The School of Nursing seeks a Research Assistant to work with Dr. Bozkurt to coordinate the daily operations of research studies. This is a temporary role scheduled to work 18 hours per week for 18 weeks.
- Travel to UMass Memorial Medical Center to collect data from nurses
- Ensure accurate documentation and secure handling of research data
- Maintain compliance with IRB-approved study protocols and ethical guidelines
- Assist with participant recruitment, scheduling, and follow-up as needed
- Support data entry, cleaning, and organization for statistical analysis
- Contribute to manuscript writing, reports, and summary papers for journal submission, if required
- Perform additional research-related tasks as assigned
- Attend weekly or biweekly project meetings and provide updates
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in nursing, healthcare, or a related field)
- Experience in clinical nursing and/or research
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with participants
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adhere to research protocols
- Willingness to travel to data collection sites as required
- Completion of CITI training
- Basic proficiency in research tools (e.g., surveys, interview guides, Microsoft Excel)
- A valid, unrestricted MA driver's license
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Prior experience in data collection, research, or healthcare education
- Familiarity with ethical research guidelines and HIPAA compliance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 lbs.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone
- Work requires the ability to travel by car
Compensation
Hiring Range: $40 per hour
The pay range associated with this posting reflects the amount the University reasonably expects to pay for this role at this time. Salary offers are determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications as well as internal equity, market data and pay in comparison to similarly situated employees doing comparable work.
