Research Assistant (Centre for Advanced 2D Materials)
The candidate will work at the Centre for Advanced 2D Materials (CA2DM) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in a highly international and multidisciplinary environment with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. The candidate will work at a laboratory dedicated to the development of biosensors for human sweat.
The position requires a proactive professional, with a wide vision from the academy through the industries, to:
- Work with biosensors for human biofluids (saliva, sweat, etc)
- Prepare chemical and bio-chemical solutions
- Perform laboratory analytical tests, evaluate the results, and present reports to the team, and suggest new pathways
- Initiate, improve, and revise chemical laboratory operations and test procedures when appropriate
- Implement developed techniques for the identification of improvements to meet specific product specifications
- Perform assigned tasks using standardized procedures or detailed verbal or written instructions
- Have excellent chemical laboratory/safety practices
- Review and understand scientific and technical literature
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Qualifications
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Bachelor’s, Master’s degree in the areas of biochemistry, chemistry, materials science, or related fields. Additionally, it would be a bonus if the candidate has:
- Experience with sensors/biosensors
- Familiarity with electrochemical techniques, or a solid understanding of the underlying principles
The position is available for 1 year with a possible extension to 2 years or more. The salary and position depend on previous experience and academic degrees.
