The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the Aitbekova research lab. This role will support electrochemical measurements, gas and liquid product quantification, and spectroscopic characterization. data analysis, application development, and research objectives. Work could include, for example, literature review, group meeting presentations, and reports.
This is a fixed-term position of up to 3 months, including a competitive salary and full-time benefits. The starting date is June 1, 2026. Applications will be considered until the position is filled. Please upload your CV and cover letter.
Core Responsibilities:
- Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.
- May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.
- Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.
- Performs library research and field explorations.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- BS in Chemical Engineering or related field;
- A strong research record, including academic experience;
- Strong verbal/written communication skills;
- Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
