With research thrusts across fields such as health and medicine, biofuels, air quality and more, CMU chemical engineering students are paving the way to healthier, cleaner, more efficient future for all.
The Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant for the Sevenler research lab. In this role, research expertise on high throughput cell deformability is required.
Core Responsibilities:
- Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.
- May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.
- Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.
- Performs library research and field explorations.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Masters in Chemical Engineering or related field;
- Interdisciplinary strength in biotechnology, microfluidics, and mammalian cell culture;
- A strong research record including academic experience;
- Strong verbal/written communication skills;
- Highly motivated and creative, enjoys working in a collaborative research environment
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
