Research Assistant, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Study Coordinator and Senior Research Project Director, the Research Assistant will support a five-year study entitled 'Trauma-informed approach to timely detection and management of early postpartum hypertension' which is funded by the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). Major responsibilities include screening patients for eligibility, enrollment, data collection and data entry. An ideal candidate holds a demonstrated interest in addressing maternal and child health inequity from a social determinants of health perspective. The Research Assistant should have strong teamwork, written and oral communications skills, and the ability to work independently.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day engagement in study activities including screening, recruitment, consent, interviewing and data collection.
- Communicate with clinical stakeholders as needed for study implementation, education, and recruitment.
- Support and coordinate with the study team for various activities including development and implementation of protocols.
- Assist in the preparation of materials for study data collection activities.
- Aid the Study Coordinator and the Senior Research Project Director with oversight and coordination of research study operations and reporting activities across sites.
- Provide required study reports, meeting summaries, and basic data analysis as needed.
- Facilitate necessary meetings with project stakeholders, nursing staff and clinicians, and manage record keeping and note taking accordingly.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in a related field or two years of experience working with patients/data collection, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Experience working in community engaged programs and research projects.
- Experience with Word, Power Point, Excel, and related software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intercultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with members of diverse backgrounds.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) with fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish demonstrated through at least 1 year of work experience.
- Training as a community health worker or doula.
Salary Range
$50,000 - $55,000
