Research Assistant I in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref.: 534461) (to commence as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance).

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our research team. Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related discipline in health and social sciences. Strong written and spoken English skills are essential.

Familiarity with compassion science and topics such as stigma and health, trauma and resilience, mindfulness, and cultural humility is advantageous. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies.

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator (Prof. Eddie Chong) in overseeing various research projects, such as those focusing on the mental health needs of ethnically diverse and sexual/gender expansive communities, as well as the cultural adaptation of compassion-based treatment approaches. In addition to conducting literature reviews, the appointee will be responsible for managing and analyzing data, preparing presentations and reports, and carrying out other duties as assigned.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
