Job Summary

The Research Assistant will assist with preparation of samples in the Noble Gas lab in the Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences.

Essential Job Duties

• Prepare rock and mineral samples for helium analysis.
• Mineral identification and separation.
• Use of leaching techniques to remove calcium carbonate from marine sediments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

• Basic laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of leaching techniques to remove calcium carbonate from marine sediments.
• Familiarity with mineral identification and separation.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.

Hiring Range

$19.00 to $22.00 per hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
