Qualification requirements:
- Education: A doctoral degree in the field of medical and health sciences or in the field of natural sciences, obtained no earlier than 7 years prior to the year of employment in the project, provided that this period does not include breaks related to: maternity leave, paternity leave, parental leave, or childcare leave granted in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code; or the receipt of sick pay or rehabilitation benefits due to an inability to work, including that caused by an illness requiring rehabilitation and treatment. In such a situation, the seven-year period is extended by the duration of the leave, provided that the applicant can confirm this with appropriate documentation.
- Professional experience: Proven experience in the in vitro culture of mammalian cells (preferably tumor microenvironment cells), methods of molecular biology and cell imaging, as evidenced by scientific publications. At least one publication (as first author) in journals classified in Q1 or Q2 according to Clarivate Analytics
- Professional skills: Ability to apply techniques in cell biology and molecular biology. Ability to independently plan experiments, analyze and interpret results, use statistical tools, and present findings in written and oral form. Fluency in spoken and written English (at a level of at least B2).
- Personality predispositions: creativity in solving research problems, responsibility, teamwork skills, communication skills, and the ability to continuously expand one's knowledge.
Specific Requirements
Task description:
Scientific research within the project entitled "Prognostic potential of neuromedin U and its receptors in colorectal cancer, importance in the metastasis" which include
- Generation and characterization of NMUR1 knockout colorectal cancer cell clones and their invasive potential.
- Analyses in vitro of the effects of NMU on tumor microenvironment cells.
- Analyses of the most critical signaling pathways induced by NMU in tumor microenvironment
- Conducting experiments using advanced techniques in molecular biology and cell biology; participating in research planning and data analysis; compiling and presenting research results; and contributing to the writing of manuscripts.

The project involves conducting research tasks in collaboration with other institutions. This will provide an opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of methodologies and data analyzing. The person hired for this position will have the opportunity to develop their own research ideas and, based on the experience gained and the results of the research conducted, prepare an original grant proposal. The scope and focus of the grant may be tailored to the candidate's research interests and the research profile of the Laboratory.

Terms of Employment
- Employment contract for a period of at least 6 months, with the possibility of extension until August 31, 2027.
- Gross remuneration in the amount of 7000 PLN to 8000 PLN, funded under the OPUS-21 project.
- While receiving a full-time salary, the employee:
- shall not receive any other remuneration from funds allocated as direct costs under research projects funded through NCN competitions;
- shall not receive remuneration from another employer under an employment contract, including an employer based outside Poland.

Evaluation of candidates and announcement of competition results
After an initial review and evaluation of the documents, selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
Interviews are scheduled for October 28, 2026. Interviews will be conducted remotely via one of the online communication platforms or at the Institute's headquarters.
Candidates recommended for hire for the above-mentioned position will be asked to provide contact information for references from previous employers.
On October 29, 2026, following the verification of references, the results of the competition will be announced. The employment application will then be forwarded to the Institute's Human Resources Department for further administrative procedures related to the hiring of the selected candidate.
