The School has an ambitious growth plan and is now seeking outstanding candidates to make significant contributions to both diversify its portfolio and support its existing strengths in architectural scholarship. The appointee will drive forward a research agenda related to the School’s strategic areas and develop research collaborations within the University and beyond. He/ She will be a key player in the research team working on environmental studies led by Professor Edward Ng.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree in a subject area relevant to Statistics, Public Health, or related disciplines, with at least two years of postdoctoral research experience in environmental or urban climate studies. Preference will be given to candidates with a strong research and practical record in the following areas:
- Impact assessment of climate change on urban and built environment
- Measurement and modeling of climate vulnerability in urban designs
- Risk analysis of climate-related hazards within high-density and complex settings
- Application of advanced modeling technologies for climate and health impact evaluation
- Development of strategies to enhance the resilience of urban structures and communities against extreme weather events
Applicants should have good proposal and report writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants should have a good scholarly record demonstrating research excellence. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in research grant application and project management.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to two years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
