Research Assistant Professor - Biophysics and soft active materials
The Patteson Lab in the Physics Department at Syracuse University is seeking a Research Assistant Professor (RaP) to join their group. The RaP will lead and engage in research activities in the field of cell motility and cell mechanics. The RaP will write their own manuscripts, prepare materials for new grant applications, and manage laboratory equipment. Two years minimum of postdoctoral training or equivalent is required.
Qualifications: PhD in Physics, Engineering or other closely related field. Minimum two-years of post-doctoral or professional experience required.
Responsibilities: Developing and conducting experimental studies on the role of vimentin in cell motility and cell mechanics. The research duties include designing new experimental protocols, acquiring experimental data, writing manuscripts and preparing materials for new grant applications. Maintaining equipment, such as multiple microscopes, and training others to use the equipment.
