Description:

The CYBER-CARE consortium at the University of Houston is looking for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor, effective as soon as possible.

Prospective candidates are required to have a doctoral degree in Transportation Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Urban Planning, or a field closely related to transportation and cybersecurity. The successful candidates will contribute to multiple research and education projects in the following areas:

  • Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) Cybersecurity
  • AI Applications and Transportation Data Security
  • Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Cybersecurity
  • Next-Generation Transportation Cybersecurity System

The CYBER-CARE consortium, USDOT Tier-1 University Transportation Center, aims to promote interdisciplinary research and education across both transportation and cybersecurity domains. CYBER-CARE’s consortium partners include Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Rice University (Rice),Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC), the University of Cincinnati (UC), and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (UHM).

Applicants should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, copy of one selected publication and contact information of three references in a single PDF file. The recruitment committee will begin to screen applications immediately, and the process will continue until the positions are filled.

Other preferred qualifications include: experience in proposal writing, strong programming or data analysis skills, and excellent academic writing and presentation skills.

Research Assistant Professor level appointments are expected to have a minimum of one year of postdoctoral experience.

Successful candidates should submit the output of their work to scientific conferences and professional meetings. In addition, CYBER-CARE will recruit multiple fully funded PhD students very soon. The successful candidates should help to supervise PhD students involved in the projects. In addition, the successful candidates should offer management workload (around 20%) to the CYBER-CARE Center.
