The Department of Medicine & Therapeutics, Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is searching for motivated candidate(s) for the full-time non-clinical Research Assistant Professor position(s), with a focus on cancer metabolism. The selected RAP is expected to lead a project to spatially analyze metabolic profiles in cohort studies to understand the crosstalk between tumor cells and other cells in the tumor microenvironment.
Applicants should have
- a PhD degree in biological and biomedical sciences, analytical chemistry or related disciplines;
- at least four years of postdoctoral experience in advanced omics analytical skills, cell biology, molecular biology, animal models and biological drug studies (in vitro and in vivo);
- hands-on experience with LC-MS based analysis, including nontargeted and targeted metabolomics, proteomics, and spatial metabolomics;
- a strong publication record in high-impact international peer reviewed scientific journals. First authored papers in top metabolism journals will be given preference;
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary research; and
- track record in securing competitive research grants and experience in disease mechanistic studies would be an advantage.
The appointee(s) will be expected to
- seek and secure external competitive research grants;
- conduct novel research on colorectal cancer;
- co-supervise postgraduate students; and
- assist in laboratory management.
The appointment(s) will initially be made on contract basis for one or two years, renewable subject to satisfactory performance, funding availability and mutual agreement. Review of applications will begin as soon as possible, and only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
