The post is based in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Reporting to Professor Nele Demeyere and Dr Sam S. Webb. The post holder is a central member of the Translational Neuropsychology research group with responsibility for the provision of research support for an NHS on-site based research study. The work includes validating new computer tablet based cognitive screening tools for use with those with acquired brain injuries (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury etc).

The post-holder will be expected to be central in data collection in clinical settings and in in patient hospital wards/settings as well as home visits within Oxfordshire and bordering counties. Travel to more remote villages may take up to 45 mins of travel time by car and 1.5hrs by public transport. In addition, a coordinating role will include various aspects of project management help to the PI and post-doctoral researcher, including research governance, communication between different co-investigators and collaborators, organising patient involvement meetings, curation of relevant research data, and running day to day support for the research group.

There is scope to develop new ideas and build upon existing research within the group. The position is fixed term until 31st March 2027 in the first instance. This post could suit those wishing to prepare for a clinical research career (e.g. wishing to pursue PhD/DPhil or Clinical Doctorate training). An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required due to working with “at risk” adults. The post is available from 1st April 2026.

This post requires on site working to facilitate good communication with other lab members and to carry out in-person data collection. There may be some flexibility in working hours, but hybrid/fully remote working would not be possible.
