Offer Description
4.5 Months Fixed-Term, Part-Time Post
The PI is looking to recruit a graduate of the BCL International programme to consider how the formulaic assessments of Irish law degrees can be updated to maximise student critical learning and discipline dexterity. The Research Assistant will use their firsthand experience of their time spent on Erasmus, to reflect on how civil law approaches to law assessment can provide an alternative approach which improves learning outcomes, building stronger confidence, and disciplinary identity alongside a richer, more critical understanding of the law.
Together with the PI, the Research Assistant will design a “LawMax Toolkit” which will identify best practice legal pedagogies and help Irish legal educators disrupt the gamification of legal degrees, encouraging deeper critical engagement and maximising learning autonomy and identity.
Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.
